Mrs. Meshugga was born on a cold December night in 2012 when not one Hanukkah shirt could be found among a sea of Christmas shirts in a big box store. Frustrated with the lack of options available Lisa Buber created her first design, our “You Spin Me Right Round” Hanukkah shirt. Proud of her ingenuity and creativity, her husband posted a picture of the shirts on Facebook and in less than an hour, Lisa was flooded with messages asking how people could get their hands on them in time for Hanukkah. From there Mrs. Meshugga grew to offer custom shirts for almost every holiday, birthdays, family occasions, and vacations. In 2018 Mrs. Meshugga joined a local retail cooperative and began producing locally themed items as well as offering in-stock apparel, accessories, and home goods to our customers.

Since our inception, Mrs. Meshugga has partnered with community organizations, schools, synagogues, and individuals to raise spirit and funds. We like to think that through the years we have helped our partners not only raise funds but helped strengthen their communities with the items we have produced for them.  All of Mrs. Meshugga’s offerings are meticulously sourced, designed, and decorated in New Jersey. Our designs are unique and exclusive to us, we encourage our customers to “embrace your crazy” by displaying their pride in their community, their mood, their age, and even their beliefs when wearing our garments and accessories.

About the designer

A constant crafter from a young age, Lisa Buber was frustrated with the lack of creativity in her marketing position, and the lack of time she got to spend with her then toddler twins. She managed to use her business background and her crafting know how to create a business that fulfilled her need to create while allowing her to work around her young family’s schedule. Lisa still gets a high from seeing her garments and accessories included in lifecycle events, given as gifts or just enjoyed by her customers.

Raised in New Jersey, Lisa returned here to raise her family. Lisa loves to explore the world through, food, art, and travel. Always looking to broaden her artistic horizons Lisa has recently worked as a calligrapher, sign and mural painter, and watercolor artist. She loves to take these skills and techniques to enhance Mrs. Meshugga’s ever expanding product lines ensuring that they reflect her modern carefree sensibility and allow her customers to do the same.

Lisa lives in New Jersey with her husband, her three children, and their two dogs. They can all usually be found hiking in the woods or involved in a full family art project.
